3. Digipaks and CD cases

THE DIFFERENCES

CD cases, also known as Jewel Cases, are a hard transparent plastic case for holding CDs. These are very common and are used to stock Albums in all music stores.

Digipaks, on the other hand are thick card made fold out cases for CDs. These contain a lot more content on the album, and are a more fun, creative way to sell a product. They give a feel for the artist and include more in depth information on the artist and the songs of the CD. Digipaks are a more effective way of distributing an album or CD. The audience is more interested and fascinated by the case and it is just as easy to produce.

A list of the things that i will need to include on my 6 panelled case are:

  • A list of the songs that the album contains
  • A font style that is consistent throughout the marketing
  • a colour scheme
  • images of the artist
